Terms of service
Launch version — July 2026.
1. The service and who operates it
PracticeAloud is a voice-based English learning service with a personal study plan, homework, and progress reports.
PracticeAloud is operated by an individual entrepreneur (a sole proprietorship), not an incorporated company. For any question about the service or these terms — including billing and account matters — contact [email protected].
2. Your account
Lessons require an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. One account — one learner: plans and progress are personal.
3. Subscription and billing
- Payments are processed by Stripe; plans and prices are listed on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account; access lasts until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds and cancellation are described in the refund & cancellation policy, which is part of these terms.
4. Fair lesson rules
- A lesson counts after 10 minutes of practice; an earlier disconnect refunds the lesson automatically.
- Rejoining within 5 minutes continues the same lesson.
- Unused lessons roll over one month (up to the monthly allotment), then expire.
- A lesson runs up to 45 minutes.
5. Acceptable use
Lessons are for language learning. We may limit or suspend access when the service is used for other purposes — including seeking professional advice (medical, legal, financial) or generating disallowed content. Warnings come first; repeated misuse leads to suspension.
6. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. We make reasonable efforts to keep lessons available and useful, but we do not guarantee a specific learning outcome. Liability is limited to the amount paid for the last month of subscription, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; we will give advance notice of material changes by email. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
